Group Helps Iraqi Widows Improve Lives
Iraq Fact of the Day

Young Iraqi widows with children are getting a much needed boost from the Iraq Widows Organization. The organization aims to increase incomes of widows in the city of Diwaniyah by giving them microcredit to start their own businesses. Project organizers plan to train 120 women to become self-reliant small business owners. The Iraqi Widows Organization has provided small loans and training to 300 women so far. This program is an example of how the international community is opening doors to economic opportunity for Iraqis.
