Government Employees Report to Iraq Ministers
Iraq Fact of the Day

Nearly 60 percent of Iraqi government workers, or 737,000 Iraqis employed by various government agencies and ministries, are reporting to Iraqi supervisors and are directed by Iraqi ministers. The ministers in 15 of 26 departments are managing the day-to-day responsibilities of governance and making decisions on policies, strategies, and budgets. By June 30, more than a million Iraqi government workers will be reporting to Iraqi ministers, and all parts of the government will be under the direct supervision of Iraq's new government.
