President to Welcome PM Blair to the White House
Statement by the Press Secretary
Visit of British Prime Minister Tony Blair

President Bush will host British Prime Minister Tony Blair at the White House on April 16, 2004, as part of regular consultations on a wide variety of issues between the two leaders. The United States and the United Kingdom are working shoulder to shoulder to bring peace, security, and democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan. The President and the Prime Minister will also discuss the war on terror; efforts to stop the spread of weapons of mass destruction; the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; and support to calls for freedom, democracy, and reform throughout the Greater Middle East.
