From the Congressional testimony of Charles Duelfer, Director of Central Intelligence Special Advisor for Strategy regarding Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction Programs, 3/30/04

The Iraqi Survey Group continues to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction and has investigated hundreds of sites.

Investigators search not only for stockpiles of weapons, but also for all that was potentially being done related to WMD and WMD delivery systems.

ISG investigators have found Iraqi managers, scientists, and engineers to be extremely reluctant to speak freely. They perceive a grave risk in speaking with investigators. They fear prosecution or that former regime supporters will exact retribution.

The ISG has uncovered details about extensive efforts undertaken by Iraq against UN inspectors. Elaborate plans were developed and rehearsed to enable sensitive sites to be able to hide documents and equipment with as little as 15 minutes notice.

The ISG has developed new information on Iraq's dual-use facilities and ongoing research suitable for a capability to produce biological or chemical weapons on short notice.

The ISG has developed information suggesting Iraqi interest in preserving and expanding the knowledge needed to design and develop nuclear weapons.

The ISG has continued to uncover a very robust program for delivery systems that weren't reported to the UN. New information has been discovered relating to long-range ballistic missile development and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
