President Announces Wetlands Initiative on Earth Day
Commemorating Earth Day, President George W. Bush visits the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve in Wells, Maine, Thursday, April 22, 2004. During his visit, President Bush announced a program to increase the amount of wetlands in the United States. "To do so, we will work to restore and to improve and to protect at least three million acres of wetlands over the next five years," said the President.
