Diwaniyah Women Participate In Democracy Activities, January 27, 2004

The Diwaniyah Women's Rights Center, one of the first centers for democracy and human rights advocates in liberated Iraq, is sponsoring democracy classes on political parties, the constitution, and human rights. The Diwaniyah Center exists, not only to foster democracy, but also to help vulnerable women improve their lives and the lives of their children. A year ago under Saddam's regime Iraqis would have been tortured and possibly killed for participating in these types of activities
