Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Arnold I. Havens, of Virginia, to be General Counsel for the Department of the Treasury. He currently serves as Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at CSX Corporation. He previously served as Vice President for Federal Affairs, and Vice President and Washington Counsel, at CSX. Earlier in his career, he served as the President of the Havens Group, Inc., and as Senior Vice President of the Pagonis and Donnelly Group. During the George H.W. Bush Administration, he served as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, at the White House. Mr. Havens is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he went on to earn his law degree.
