Director of Terrorist Threat Integration Center Announced
Statement by the Press Secretary
Today, John O. Brennan was named the Director of the newly created Terrorist Threat Integration Center (TTIC).
The TTIC, which was announced by the President in his State of the Union Address, is scheduled to begin operations on May 1, 2003. It will enable full integration of U.S. Government terrorist threat-related information and analysis. Its structure is designed to ensure rapid and unfettered sharing of relevant information across department lines.
Mr. Brennan was appointed by the Director of Central Intelligence, George J. Tenet, in consultation with the Director of the F.B.I., the Attorney General, and the Secretaries of Homeland Security and Defense.
