Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate three individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Nicholas Gregory Mankiw of Massachusetts, to be a Member of the Council of Economic Advisors and upon confirmation designate as Chairman. He is currently a Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Throughout his career, he has taught macroeconomics, microeconomics, statistics and principles of economics. Professor Mankiw has also authored two textbooks, Macroeconomics and Principles of Economics . In addition, he is a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research, an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Congressional Budget Office. He is a graduate of Princeton University and earned his Ph.D. from M.I.T.

The President intends to nominate the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Directors of the African Development Foundation:

The President intends to nominate Ephraim Batambuze of Illinois, for the remainder of a six-year term expiring February 9, 2008.

The President intends to nominate Thomas Thomas Riley of California, for the remainder of a six-year term expiring September 22, 2005.
