Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve as a Member of his administration:

The President intends to nominate Lawrence B. Hagel of Virginia, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Mr. Hagel currently serves as the General Counsel of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. A retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served previously as a U.S. Marine Corps Judge Advocate. He received the Federal Bar Association Publication Board Special Recognition Award in 1992 and the Federal Bar Association Exceptional Professionalism Award in 1994. Mr. Hagel is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He earned a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific and went on to earn an L.L.M. from the George Washington University.
