Statement by the Press Secretary

On Friday, October 11, 2002, the President signed into law:

S.238, which authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to conduct feasibility studies on water optimization in the Burnt, Malheur, Owyhee, and Power River basins, in northeastern Oregon.

S.1325, which ratifies an agreement between the Aleut Corporation and the United States to exchange land rights received under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act for certain land on Adak Island.
