Nominations and Appointments
President Bush Today Announced His Intention to Nominate Two Individuals, His Intention to Appoint One Individual, and His Appointment of One Individual to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced the intention to nominate two individuals, his intention to appoint one individual, and his appointment of one individual.

The President intends to nominate Robert J. Battista to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board for a five-year expiring December 16, 2007, and upon confirmation designate Chairman. Battista is currently an attorney and shareholder with Butzel Long lawfirm in Detroit, Michigan. From 1985 to 1992, he was the Manager of Butzel Long's Labor and Employment Law Group. Battista is a member of the American Arbitration Association Michigan Region's Advisory Committee. He is a fellow at the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and a member of the Michigan Employment Relations Commission's Advisory Committee.

The President intends to nominate Wilma B. Liebman to be a Member of the National Labor Relations Board, for the remainder of a five-year term expiring August 27, 2006. Ms. Liebman has served as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board since 1997, having previously worked as the Deputy Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. She has a JD from George Washington University Law Center, and a BA from Barnard College.

The President has appointed Timothy Alan Campen, to be the Director of the Office of Administration. Mr. Campen has served as the Chief Information Officer for the Office of Administration since August 2001. From 1997 to 2001, he was the Associate Administrator for House Information Resources of the United States House of Representatives. He has a BS from the University of Nebraska.

The President intends to appoint Thomas C. Dorr to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Rural Telephone Bank.
