Nomination
President Bush Today Announced His Intention to Nominate One Individual to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Steven B. Nesmith to be Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations. Nesmith is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the United States Department of Commerce. Previously, he was Senior Counsel at the Legislative Strategies Group, and from 1998 to 1999, he was Director of Operations of the Mayor's Office of Community Services/Department of Housing and Urban Development Empowerment Zone in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nesmith is a graduate of American University and Georgetown University Law Center.
