Nominations
President Bush to Nominate Three Individuals to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate three individuals to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Richard Vaughn Mecum to be United States Marshal for the Northern District of Georgia. Mr. Mecum has been a consultant for U.S. Security Associates in Roswell, Georgia since 1998. He owned Nekam Security, Inc., from 1991 to 1998, following 11 years of service as Sheriff in the Hall County Sheriff's Department in Hall County, Georgia. Vaughn has an MPA degree from Brenau University and a BBA from the University of Georgia.

The President intends to nominate George Breffni Walsh to be United States Marshal for the District of Columbia. Mr. Walsh has been with the United States Marshals Service since 1989, working his way through the ranks to Supervisory Criminal Investigator. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College in Albany, New York.

The President intends to nominate Burton Stallwood to be United States Marshal for the District of Rhode Island. Mr. Stallwood was the Town Administrator for the Town of Lincoln, Rhode Island from 1973 to 2001. He owned Stallwood Insurance Agency and Real Estate from 1964 to 1973, following four years of service in the United States Air Force. Stallwood has an Associate's degree from Johnson & Wales Junior College in Providence, Rhode Island.
