Appointment
President Bush Today Announced His Intention to Appoint Fred S. Zeidman to be a Member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to appoint Fred S. Zeidman to be a Member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council for the remainder of a five-year term expiring January 15, 2007, and upon appointment, designate Chair.

Fred S. Zeidman is a prominent business and civic leader from Houston, Texas.  Zeidman is Managing Partner of WoodRock & Company.  He is Chairman of the Southwest Region of the Anti Defamation League; Vice Chairman of the Board of Regents of Texas Southern University; Texas State Chairman of Israel Bonds; and Vice President and Director of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.  He also serves on the Executive Committee of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).   Zeidman has played a leadership role in a number of other Jewish organizations.  Zeidman received his BSBA from Washington University and MBA from New York University.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Council oversees the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, our national institution dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and education.  The Museum has welcomed over 17 million visitors since opening in 1993.
