Nomination
President Bush to Nominate Rigsby to Serve as An Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate Robert R. Rigsby to serve as an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Rigsby has served as Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia since February 2000 and has served in the Office of Corporation Counsel since 1992. Before being named Corporation Counsel, his previous assignments included Deputy Corporation Counsel and Chief of the Enforcement Division, and Deputy Corporation Counsel and Chief of the Criminal Division. As a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, he serves in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. Rigsby's military service includes active duty in the Army Trial Defense Service, as a Prosecutor for the 101st Airborne Division, as a Legal Advisor to the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai, Egypt, 101st Airborne Division; and as Chief of U.S. Magistrate Court Prosecutions in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Rigsby is a graduate of San Jose State University and the University of California at San Francisco Law School.
