President Bush to Meet with President of Pakistan
Statement by the Press Secretary
Meeting with President Musharraf of Pakistan
President Bush will meet with President Musharraf on November 10 while the two leaders are in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. After their meeting, President Bush will host President Musharraf for dinner. Pakistan has strongly supported the United States in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. This meeting is an important step in President Bush's efforts to sustain a strong international coalition in the war against terrorism.
President Bush looks forward to discussing the anti-terrorism campaign, regional security matters, economic cooperation, human rights, the October 2002 Pakistani elections, and ways to further strengthen the relationship between the United States and Pakistan.
