President Signs Bills into Law
Statement by the Press Secretary

On Tuesday, September 18, 2001, the following bills were signed into law:

H.R. 2882, Expedited Payment of Benefits to Public Safety Officers, provides an expedited payment to the public safety officers who were killed or suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001;

H.R. 2888, 2001 Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Recovery from and Response to Terrorist Attacks on the United States, provides additional disaster assistance for anti-terrorism initiatives and recovery as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001;

S.J.Res. 22, Recognizing the terrorist attacks launched against the United States on September 11, 2001, expressing the sense of the Senate and House of Representatives regarding the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001.
