"It will carry no more presidents, but it will carry forever the spirit of American democracy," said President Bush during a retirement ceremony for the jet that flew as Air Force One for more than a million miles on 444 missions. Entered into service during the Nixon administration, the plane flew its final mission, carrying President Bush and First Lady Mrs. Bush to the ceremony at Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, Aug. 29. It may not be a show down at high noon, but a few good-natured shots are fired as President bush gives the press pool a tour of his ranch at Crawford, Texas, Aug. 25.
