Excerpts from Press Briefing by Ari Fleischer, September 6, 2002 (Full transcript)

QUESTION: Ari, this morning you said that today's Labor report indicates a need for Congress to pass terrorism and pension legislation. Does he want additional tax cuts? And is he going to make a proposal himself, or is he going to let the Congress deal with that?

MR. FLEISCHER: The President is continuing to review that information. The President is studying the economic data and the trends in the economy, and reviewing what actions may or may not be taken that could be constructive.

QUESTION: Is he going to make a proposal?

MR. FLEISCHER: I just answered that question. The President is reviewing it.
