NICHCY is a national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals.

A project of the Academy for Educational Development, NICHCY focuses on children and youth from birth to age 22 and operates through a cooperative agreement with the Office of Special Education Programs within the U.S. Department of Education.

Resources on the NICHCY website and NICHCY information specialists are available to answer specific questions; offer referrals to disability organizations, parent groups, and professional associations at the state and national level; and provide NICHCY publications, including fact sheets on specific disabilities, state resource sheets and guides for parents.
