In February 2003, Marguerite Murer was named Education and Special
Projects Director for the White House Fellows Program. She joined the
program after serving at the Department of Commerce. There, Murer
contributed to high priority initiatives including the post-September 11th
revitalization efforts in New York City and leadership training. She also
coordinated special events for Secretary Don Evans.
Previously, Murer was the Director of Corporate Communications and Training for Alfa SmartParks, Inc. She conducted customer service, ethics, and leadership training for the management teams and seasonal employees. She also worked for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, where she coordinated VIP activities such as the Inaugural Interleague Baseball Game, Nolan Ryan's Induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and Post-Season Playoffs. Additionally, she assisted with the Rangers community outreach, leadership training, and employee customer service training.
Murer also was a high school special education teacher for students with learning disabilities and behavior disorder students. Immediately after college, she was a field consultant for Delta Delta Delta sorority, and later worked for the organization as Collegiate Development Coordinator. She continues to serve as a volunteer creating development initiatives and serving on the national philanthropy committee.
Murer holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois.
