Vander Jagt, a former Michigan congressman who died June 22, served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1966 to 1993 and as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee for more than 15 years. Said Vice President Cheney, "Guy was a happy warrior for his principles and for his party. But he was comfortable on the other side of the aisle and he had friends of every stripe."
