Mrs. Bush's Remarks During a Visit to the Children's National Medical Center and Unveiling of Barney Cam 2007
Children's National Medical Center
Holidays at the White House 2007
10:03 A.M. EST
MRS. BUSH: Hello, everybody. Happy holidays, especially to all the kids that are here. I look forward to this visit to the hospital every Christmas season. It's a very important part of my Christmas. And I guess this is the seventh year I've come. And I really love having the chance to see all the patients here that are getting well and starting to feel good, and all their moms and dads who are praying for their recovery and are so happy their children are doing well.

MR. SNOWDEN: I want to thank Mrs. Bush again for coming to Children's Hospital. I'm Dick Snowden, I'm the Chairman of the Board, and this is always the highlight of our holiday season. And I know Mrs. Bush has got a few minutes to take a couple of questions from children -- no big people, just kids. So does anybody have a question for Mrs. Bush?
Q What is Barney's favorite toy?
MRS. BUSH: Barney's favorite toy? Is that what you said? Barney loves soccer, and he actually can play soccer with his nose. Did you see him playing with the big soccer ball?
MRS. BUSH: And you know what else he likes to play? Golf. (Laughter.) Because his nose can go down in the hole and he can retrieve the ball for the President. (Laughter.)
MR. SNOWDEN: Who else has a question?
MRS. BUSH: Yes, sir.
Q What is the President's -- does the President have a lot of work to do? (Laughter.)
MRS. BUSH: He does have a lot of work to do. He has a lot of work.
Did you have a question?
Q What's your favorite thing about Christmas?
MRS. BUSH: My favorite thing about Christmas? Well, one of my favorite things for me for the last seven years has been coming here and seeing all the boys and girls. But then I also, of course, like sitting around the Christmas tree with my two girls -- did you see Barbara and Jenna in the video? -- and drinking hot chocolate.
MR. SNOWDEN: Thank you all for coming, and thank you, Mrs. Bush.
MRS. BUSH: Thanks, everybody. Thank you all very much. That was so much fun. (Applause.)
