Prior to his appointment, Dr. Perlin served as Acting Under Secretary for Health at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Previously, he was Deputy Under Secretary for Health and prior to that served as Chief Quality and Performance Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Before joining the Department, Dr. Perlin served as Medical Director for Quality Improvement at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Dr. Perlin received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his master’s degree, M.D., and Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. |
