Pamela Patenaude -- Department of Housing and Urban Development
Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (Community Planning and Development)

Prior to her appointment at HUD, Ms. Patenaude served as State Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator Bob Smith (R-NH), overseeing strategic planning and operations. She also served as the Marketing and Training Director for the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center where she successfully executed the largest women’s business conference in New England. From 1988 to 1996, Ms. Patenaude served as Vice President of Manor Homes Builders, Inc., a family owned, national award winning custom homebuilder located in Bedford, New Hampshire. During the Reagan Administration, she served as the White House Liaison, Special Assistant to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing, and Executive Assistant to the Deputy Under Secretary for Field Coordination for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ms. Patenaude began her career in housing and community economic development at the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority where she administered the Section 8 rental assistance program. She is a graduate of Saint Anselm College, and received her master’s degree in community economic development from New Hampshire College. She also attended Tufts University Management and Community Development Institute, and The American University Washington Justice Program. Ms. Patenaude has held leadership positions in many professional and civic organizations, including the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the American Red Cross, the New Hampshire Homebuilders Association, the NH Community Development Finance Authority, the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission, the Bedford Planning Board and Economic Development Corporation, and served as Chairman of the Bedford Housing Advisory Committee.
