Before joining the Bush Administration, Mr. Wehner was Executive Director for Policy for Empower America, a conservative public policy organization. Mr. Wehner specialized in, and has written on, political, cultural and religious issues. He is a former assistant to the director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and was a speechwriter at the Department of Education. In the 1980s, Mr. Wehner wrote on international affairs at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and later, at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. A native of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Wehner grew up in Richland, Washington. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Washington. |
