Prior to his confirmation, Mr. Mancuso served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Combating Terrorism. As the senior civilian Defense Department official with immediate responsibility for the global special operations and counterterrorism portfolio, Mr. Mancuso worked closely with the senior military and civilian leadership of the Department of Defense, senior members of the U.S. government national security leadership, and senior government officials of U.S. foreign partners and allies.
Before entering government service in January 2005, Mr. Mancuso spent a decade in the private sector as an international corporate lawyer and business executive. Mr. Mancuso advised, managed, and executed complex cross-border transactions and investments for leading investment banks and public and private company clients worldwide. |
