Inspector General at the Federal Emergency Management Agency

Prior to his current appointment, George Opfer served for 25 years in the U.S. Secret Service. He served as a special agent, conducted fraud and counterfeit investigations as a Treasury agent, conducted internal inspections of the Secret Service and coordinated emergency preparedness for the Presidential Protection Division. He also held temporary posts at the State Department, implementing security enhancements at U.S. embassies and foreign countries. George holds a B.S. in management from St. John's University, New York.
