Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Political Affairs

Most recently, Ken Mehlman served as National Field Director for the Bush-Cheney 2000 presidential campaign. During the Republican primary, he was Midwest Regional Political Director. From 1996 to 1999, he was U.S. Congresswoman Kay Granger's (TX-12) Chief of Staff, and from 1994 to 1996 he was U.S. Congressman Lamar Smith's (TX-21) Legislative Director. Previously, he practiced environmental law for three years in Washington, D.C. Ken is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and received his J.D. from Harvard University Law School.
