Inspector General of the Department of Transportation

Prior to becoming Inspector General, Ken Mead served at the U.S. General Accounting Office for 22 years. Most recently, he was Deputy Assistant Comptroller General for Policy. Prior to that, he was Director of Transportation and Telecommunication Issues. Ken also served as an Associate and Assistant Director in the transportation area, Assistant Director for GAO's Office of Quality Assurance and as Senior Attorney with GAO's Office of General Counsel. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut University and received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina.
