Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission

From 1994 to 1998, Montie Deer served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the State of Kansas. In that capacity, he served on the Indian Affairs Sub-Committee of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee of U.S. Attorneys. From 1983 to 1994, Montie served as District Court Judge in the 18th Judicial District of the State of Kansas. Prior to his judgeship, he was in private practice. Montie is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, holds a M.S. from The Teacher's College at Emporia State University and a J.D. from Washburn University School of Law.
