Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations

Linda Avery Strachan serves as Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Congressional Relations. Ms. Strachan formerly served as Director of Federal Government Affairs for the Monsanto Company of St. Louis, Missouri from 1998 to 2006. Prior to this, she served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Oceans, International Environmental and Scientific Affairs at the Department of State from 1989-1998. She also worked at the Environmental Protection Agency for 5 years, working in the office of Pesticides and Textiles and in the office of External Affairs. Ms. Strachan worked on Capitol Hill for then Majority Leader, Senator Howard H. Baker of Tennessee.
