Appointee Directory View:   Eric Thorson -- Small Business Administration Inspector General Eric M. Thorson has been the Inspector General at the Small Business Administration since April 2006. He formerly served in a variety of governmental positions including Senior Adviser to the Director at the Office of Personnel Management and a Special Assistant to the Republican Leader of the United States Senate. Earlier in his career, Mr. Thorson was the Chief Investigator for both the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, and the Senate Committee on Finance. He has also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force and acting Assistant Secretary of the Air Force. He received his bachelor’s degree from the United States Air Force Academy and is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. 202-205-6586
