Assistant Administrator, Office of Solid Waste

Susan P. Bodine is EPA's Assistant Administrator for the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response. She oversees policy and provides guidance and direction on the safe management of waste, preparation and prevention of chemical and oils spills, accidents and emergencies, and the cleaning up and reusing of contaminated property. Prior to joining EPA, Ms. Bodine served as the Staff Director and Senior Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives on the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. She also worked for the law office of Covington and Burling, where she specialized in environmental law. Ms. Bodine holds an A.B. degree from Princeton University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
