General Counsel

David R. Hill serves as General Counsel at the Department of Energy. Previously, Mr. Hill served as Deputy General Counsel for Energy Policy at the Department of Energy. Prior to joining the Administration, he was a partner in the Kansas City, Missouri law firm of Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin. Before that, Mr. Hill was a partner at Wiley, Rein & Fielding, a Washington, D.C law firm. Earlier in his career, he served as Associate Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture. Mr. Hill earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
