Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs

Before joining the Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary DeFrancis served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Communications. Prior to this position, Ms. DeFrancis served as Senior Vice President and Director of Public Affairs at Porter Novelli. Earlier in her career she served as Deputy Director of Communications and Congressional Affairs at the Republican National Committee and as a speechwriter in the Nixon Administration. Ms. DeFrancis earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado.
