Coordinator for International Intellectual Property

Christian Israel is the Coordinator for International Intellectual Property Enforcement at the United States Department of Commerce. Mr. Israel joined the Commerce Department as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy, on November 1, 2001. From January 2001 until moving to Commerce, Mr. Israel was Deputy Director of International Public Policy for AOL Time Warner, and previously worked as a Senior Public Policy Analyst for Time Warner Inc. beginning in 1997. His experience includes working on high profile policy issues such as the protection of personal data collected on-line, safety of children online and international e-commerce. Earlier in his career, Mr. Israel served as a legislative aide to U.S. Representative Jan Meyers (R-KS) and later with U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-KS). Mr. Israel received his B.A. from the University of Kansas and his M.B.A. from The George Washington University.
