Susan Johnson Grant -- Department of Energy |

Prior to her appointment as the CFO for the Department of Energy, Ms. Grant served as a career public servant with the Federal Government as a Department of Defense civilian for over 30 years. Most recently, she was the Director for Corporate Resources at the Defense Financial Accounting Service (DFAS), where she served as the Agency's Chief Financial Officer directing day-to-day business operations for the $1.6 billion Defense component with its 15,000 civilian and military personnel. She advised the Director and staff on all matter pertaining to financial management, human resources, administrative services, corporate planning, acquisition services, and equal employment opportunity. She joined DFAS in March 1999 as the Deputy Director for Budget, Resource Management Directorate where she was responsible for oversight and management of the Agency's planning, programming, and budgeting program.
Having begun her federal career in 1972, Ms. Grant has extensive experience in defense financial management and analysis. She had held various analytical and leadership positions, specializing in management, program, budget, acquisition and logistics analyses. Her experience spans the Department of Navy as a budget officer and manpower manager; the Department of the Air Force as a program analyst and logistics management specialist; and the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) as a program and budget analyst. She was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in October 1999.
Ms. Grant is a 1994 graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, Charlottesville, VA; a 1992 graduate of the Senior Executive Fellows Program, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; and a 1982 graduate of the Professional Military Comptroller School, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL.
