Chief Human Capital Officer of the Department of Homeland Security

The President appointed Ronald J. James of Ohio, to be Chief Human Capital Officer, Department of Homeland Security. Currently, Mr. James is a Partner with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to this, he served as Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor and as Assistant General Counsel for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Earlier in his career, Mr. James served as a trial attorney for the Department of Transportation, where he was a litigator for cases involving transportation policies and mergers before regulatory agencies and federal courts. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri and his master's degree from Southern Illinois University. Mr. James went on to earn his J.D. from American University Law School.
