Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Prior to her current appointment, Annette served as Deputy Administrator of FMCSA and Deputy Administrator of NHTSA. Before joining DOT , Annette practiced law with the Maple Valley Law Group, representing employers in labor and employment matters. Previously, she had served for six years as the Chief of the Washington State Police and was the first woman in the country to lead a state police agency. She received her J.D. from the University of Puget Sound School of Law and holds an M.B.A. from City University in Bellevue, Washington.
