Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Political Affairs

Matt Schlapp currently serves as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Political Affairs at the White House. Prior to his appointment, Matt worked on the Bush-Cheney 2000 Campaign where he served as the Regional Political Director. In 1994, Matt helped elect Kansas Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-4th) to the U.S. House of Representatives and served as his Chief of Staff. Matt graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he majored in History and Government. He then attended Wichita State University where he received a Master of Public Administration.
