Chief of Staff of the Department of Energy

Prior to being appointed Chief of Staff in December 2002, Joseph McMonigle was the Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor at the Energy Department. Before joining the Administration, he was the Administrative Assistant and General Counsel to then-Senator Abraham from Michigan. He also served as Abraham's press secretary in his first campaign in 1994 and his campaign manager in 2000. In addition, he also served as an aide to former Congressman and HUD Secretary Jack Kemp and the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Joseph attended King's College in Wilkes-Barre and Widener University School of Law.
