Inspector General of the National Endowment for the Arts

Since March of 2001, Daniel L. Shaw has served as Inspector General for the National Endowment for the Arts. Mr. Shaw first started his work at the Endowment in 1983 as an auditor and assistant inspector general. From 1976 to 1983 he worked as an auditor for the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, and from 1973-76 he started his federal career as a field agent at the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Shaw received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware in 1973, and he is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Certified Fraud Examiner.
