Appointee Directory View:   John Turner -- Department of State Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans, International Environment & Scientific Affairs Prior to his current appointment, John Turner was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Conservation Fund, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to public-private partnerships to protect land and water resources. Between 1989 and 1993, he served as the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He served for nineteen years in the Wyoming State Legislature and is a past President of the Wyoming State Senate. John is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and he received a Master of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Michigan 202-647-1554
