Jeffrey Shane -- Department of Transportation
Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy

Prior to his current appointment, Jeffrey Shane served as Associate Deputy Secretary of Transportation. Previously, he practiced law, first as Counsel and Partner at Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering and then as a Partner at Hogan and Hartson. From 1979 to 1985, Jeffrey served at the Department of Transportation as Assistant General Counsel for International Law, then as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs. From 1985 to 1989, he served at the U.S. Department of State as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Affairs. In 1989, he returned to the Department of Transportation as Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs, where he served until 1993. Jeffrey is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia University School of Law.
