Appointee Directory View:   Ron Sega -- Department of Defense Director of Defense for Research and Engineering From 1996 until his current appointment, Ron Sega was Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He also served as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor at the University. He was a Brigadier General with the United States Air Force, and from 1991 to 1996 he was an Astronaut, participating in two Space Shuttle Missions. Sega is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, received a Master's from Ohio State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. 703-697-5776
