Assistant Administrator of Environmental Protection for International Activities

Judith E. Ayres is EPA's Assistant Administrator for The Office of International Affairs. She oversees EPA involvement in international policies and programs that cut across EPA offices and regions. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Ayres headed The Environment Group and served as vice president of William D. Ruckelshaus Associates. She served as Regional Administrator for EPA Region 9 from 1983-1988 and was a member of the personal staff of Secretary of the Interior Rogers C.B. Morton. Ms. Ayres holds bachelor degrees in zoology and physiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master of Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
