Deputy Secretary

Prior to his current appointment, Gene Hickok served as the Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a position he held from 1995 until 2001. Previously, he was the Director of the Clarke Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Contemporary Issues and a Professor of Political Science at Dickinson College. He is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, received his Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Virginia and received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
