Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (Enforcement & Compliance Assurance

Granta Y. Nakayama is EPA's Assistant Administrator for the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. He oversees and serves as the Administrator's principal advisor on all matters concerning the Agency's enforcement and compliance assurance program. Before joining EPA, Mr. Nakayama was a partner with the law firm of Kirkland and Ellis, L.L.P. and served in the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine program. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at George Mason University School of Law. Mr. Nakayama holds bachelor and master degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law.
